THE FLAT-LESS TYRE. Schwalbe's best-selling model and the most puncture-resistant pneumatic tyre there is. Performance Line, wire bead, ADDIX Endurance compound, SmartGuard protection, Black-Reflex sidewall.
Rolling resistance. The patented 5 mm SmartGuard layer has a significant rolling-resistance advantage over generic puncture-protection products.
Recycling. SmartGuard uses a proportion of recycled rubber from old latex products.
"Anti-aging" sidewall. Lasts much longer before developing cracks when ridden at too-low pressure.
E-bike ready. An ideal choice for e-bikes. The 25–32 mm sizes are E-25 rated (pedelecs up to 25 km/h); the 35–45 mm sizes are E-50 rated with ECE-R75 approval for S-Pedelecs up to 50 km/h.
No tyre can guarantee you'll never get a flat, but the Marathon Plus has the best defence against everyday tyre wreckers such as glass, flints and metal shards — the 5 mm guard even stops thumbtacks. Use a pressure gauge to set pressure; the usual thumb check isn't accurate due to its special construction.
